On Australia Day, we come together as a nation to celebrate our diverse society and landscape, our remarkable achievements and our bright future.

It is also a chance to reflect on our nation's history, and to consider how we can make Australia an even better place in future.

City of Ryde Australia Day Ceremony

Time: 10am
Venue: Ryde Civic Hall, 1 Devlin Street, Ryde

The 2014 Citizen and Young Citizen of the Year will be announced at our special Australia Day Citizenship Ceremony and we will welcome 50 new citizens. There will also be an address by our Australia Day Ambassador, Dr. Cindy Pan.

This year the ceremony will be held at Ryde Civic Hall. Light refreshments will be available at the conclusion of the Ceremony.

Australia Day at Ryde Aquatic Leisure Centre

Time: 11am - 3pm
Venue: Ryde Aquatic Leisure Centre, 504 Victoria Road, Ryde
Cost: see RALC entry prices

Immerse yourself in Australia Day at the RALC! There'll be pool inflatables, games, prizes, giveaways and plenty of fun for the whole family. Free sausage sizzle (one per person, while stocks last). For more information call 8878 5111.

Family Concert and Fireworks

Time: 5 - 9pm
Venue: North Ryde Common, corner Twin and Wicks Roads, North Ryde
Cost: Free

Join the community to celebrate Australia at the City of Ryde's annual family concert at North Ryde Common.

Come dressed as your favourite Aussie icon. There'll be rides, sports, food stalls and a great line up of entertainment, ending with a spectacular firework display.

The band is fronted by kiwi singer Mark Williams, with bass player Todd Hunter, Canadian guitar slinger Bruce Reid and drum wizard Pete Drummond.
