A Motion of Rescission was put to the Council meeting on 27 July 2010. At this meeting Council rescinded the above resolution of the Committee of the Whole on Skate Facilities Across the City of Ryde. The meeting then resolved that Council:

Community Consultation Report

Council asked for feedback from the community on the following:

  • Should we have more skate facilities?
  • What type of facilities should we have?
  • Where should the skate facilities be located?

There were three proposed options:

Youth and Unstructured Recreation Precinct
A place for youth where there are multiple recreation activities available, offering skate opportunities for all abilities.

Skate Spot
Small skate areas with skate elements that can be integrated into the existing landscape, spread around the City to provide additional recreational areas for beginners and intermediate level skaters.

Skate Path
Small areas located off the main pathways that are places to skate and practice skating tricks, and can also be used as seating - located along paths and routes that connect residential neighbourhoods with schools, shopping centres, university etc, providing access for skaters and cyclists.
