Coxs Road Shops
Preliminary Draft Masterplan Studies
Public Exhibition: 9 May - 20 June 2012
Overview
The City of Ryde is considering changes to the planning controls for the Coxs Road shopping centre, if there is found to be sufficient community support. The planning controls set the height and density of future development in the area.
In order to determine changes to the planning controls the City of Ryde has undertaken a built form Masterplan study of the area.
The purpose of the Masterplan is to provide a long term vision for the Coxs Road area including improvements to the public domain, parking, traffic congestion, appearance of the buildings and landscaping. A Masterplan if successful is aimed at increasing the amenity and accessibility of the area and giving it its own character.
Some of the landowners within the centre, who have an interest in its future, have also undertaken a Masterplan study.
Council at its meeting of 24 April 2012 endorsed the exhibition of the two draft Masterplan studies of the area.
The draft Masterplan study prepared by council staff and draft Masterplan study prepared by landowners will be on exhibition from Wednesday 9 May 2012 to Wednesday 20 June 2012.
