Thank you to National Tree Day Volunteers

Published on 14 September 2017

National Tree Day at the Field of Mars Reserve, Gladesville was a huge success for Australia’s 22nd National Tree Day.

The site was prepared prior to planting with 50m3 of mulch and the installation of log edging.

Over 150 volunteers from the local area attended and helped plant around 700 native seedlings consisting of grasses, shrubs and trees at the Field of Mars Reserve. The plantings will help improve the wildlife corridor along Buffalo Creek, while also supporting the natural environment.

The volunteers had great fun spending their day immersed in nature with family and friends.

The City Of Ryde would like to thank the Ryde-Hunters Hill Flora and Fauna Preservation Society (RHHFFPS) who staffed the BBQ and the Field of Mars Environmental Education Centre for providing additional trowels and mattocks.

Planet Ark says thank you for taking part in National Tree Day - your help means the world to us!
