Residential Bins

waste, recycling and greenwaste binsThe standard allocation of residential bins for households is:

  • 1 x 140 litre red-lidded garbage bin
  • 1 x 240 litre yellow-lidded recycling bin
  • 1 x 240 litre green-lidded green waste bin.

Within apartment or unit blocks the allocation is generally:

  • 1 x 240 litre garbage bin shared between two units or an 1100 litre bin shared between many units
  • 1 x 240 litre recycling bin shared between two units
  • 240 litre green waste bin as required.

Damaged Bins

If your bin is damaged (eg. wheels have fallen off, broken lid, bin has split etc):

  • contact Council's Customer Service on 9952 8222
  • tell them which bin has been damaged and details of the damage
  • leave the damaged bin on the kerbside.

Your bin will either be repaired or replaced within 3 - 5 working days.

Stolen Bins

If your bin has been stolen:

Bins will be replaced within five working days.

Additional Bins

If you would like an additional garbage, recycling or green waste bin:

Additional or new bins will be charged on your rates and are pro-rated from the date received.

Upgrade from 140 litre to 240 litre bin $249 per annum
Additional 140 litre garbage bin $259 per annum
Additional 240 litre garbage bin $509 per annum
Additional 240 litre recycling bin $41 per annum
Additional 240 litre green waste bin $41 per annum
