Celebrate the festive season at the City of Ryde.
‘Lights for Kids’ Christmas Lights
In 2016 the City of Ryde worked with the Sydney Children’s Hospital and The Children's Hospital to support the Lights for Kids program. The Lights for Kids program is a fundraising campaign whereby members of the community decorate their homes with Christmas lights, and encourage people who come to view their displays to offer a donation which will benefit sick and injured children at Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick and The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.
Households in the Ryde area were encouraged to light up their house for Christmas and to register with the Lights for Kids program and to participate in voting for their favourite house in the People's Choice Award.
The City of Ryde also ran a “best decorated house” award for houses in the Ryde area registered with the Lights for Kids program, with a cash prize donated to the program and a prize for the winning house.
