Clean Up Australia Day

Clean Up Australia Day encourages all Australians to take to their local park, beach, bushland or streets and help collect rubbish. Individuals and local groups can either organise a Clean Up Site or volunteer to join an existing site.

Benefits of participating include:

  • Positive local role models through which family and community members demonstrate the importance of community participation and environmental responsibility.
  • A sense of belonging to the community, as well as generating patriotism and national pride in Australia.
  • It is an event that is inclusive of all Australians.
  • Helps to educate and inform Australians about the impact of rubbish in our environment.
  • Great team building opportunity for local groups.
  • Fosters local partnerships between Council, local groups and community members.
  • A social day where you can spend time with your family, friends and neighbours.
