Clean Up Australia Day for Schools

Schools Clean Up Day encourages schools, staff and students to take to their school ground, local park, beach, bushland or streets and help collect rubbish. Schools can sign up to organise their own Clean Up site.

Benefits of participating include:

  • Sense of pride and achievement gained from contributing positively to the local environment.
  • Positive local role models through which schools can demonstrate the importance of community participation and environmental responsibility.
  • A sense of belonging to the community, as well as generating patriotism and national pride in Australia.
  • It is an event that is inclusive of all Australians.
  • Helps to educate and inform Australians about the impact of rubbish in our environment.
  • Great team building opportunity for school participants.
  • Fosters local partnerships between Council and local schools.
  • A social day where schools can spend time with their students and staff.
