Growing vegetables in your backyard

City of Ryde and the Eastwood Evening Garden Club presents this free workshop where Margaret Mossakowska, will talk about growing healthy, organic vegetables in suburban backyards. Margaret will discuss using sustainable permaculture design for planning a vegetable patch and share basic information on the importance of crop rotation, methods of saving water (such as trenches and self-watering garden beds) and attracting beneficial insects, frogs and lizards.

Margaret is a local gardener and owner of Moss House, a business teaching urban sustainability skills. Also, she is the current President of Permaculture Sydney North, the biggest permaculture community group in Australia.
