Walking for Fitness

Council in association with the Heart Foundation, is launching a ‘Walking for Fitness’ program - a network of free community based walking groups.

The walks are 30 - 60 minutes long, depending on the preferences of the groups. They are run by volunteers from the community and everyone is welcome to join in.

Ryde Area Wednesday Walking Group

  • When: 9am, Wednesdays
  • Meet: Meadowbank Ferry Wharf 

Note: The Pram Walkers group, which previously left from the playground in Meadowbank Park, is no longer running as a separate walking group and all parents with prams are welcome to join in the main Ryde Area Walking Group.

Register your interest in joining the group online: go to the Heart Foundation website and choose ‘Walking’ under the ‘Active Living’ menu, or just turn up on the day and register there.

Council and the Heart Foundation provide support and training for volunteers, who would like to start a walking group in their area.
