Loans
You may borrow for three weeks:

• books and/or magazines
• audio cassettes and talking books
• 4 compact discs
• 4 videos
• 4 DVDs
• 2 toys (on a child's card until their seventh birthday)

Members can borrow from, and return to, any of the five libraries.

For the convenience of other members and to avoid fines, items borrowed should be returned by the date marked on the issue receipt.
Toys may only be borrowed from and returned to North Ryde Library during branch library opening hours.
Members will be held responsible for items borrowed and not returned in accordance with the above provisions.

Forgotten your membership card?

Ensure you always have your membership card to borrow items or use library facilities. Borrowing is not permitted without your library card. Staff will set aside items, allowing time for you to return with your card.

If your card is lost, damaged or has been stolen?

A replacement fee of $2.80 is payable.

Renewals (Extending the loan period)

Renew via the Library Catalogue 24 hours/day via the "Check your library card" option; otherwise visit or phone the library during opening hours. Phone numbers are listed on the back of your library Membership Card. Staff can offer you two extensions of your loan for a further 3 weeks each time, provided the items are not overdue or reserved.
For a speedy extension of your loan, have your membership number, name and titles of the items you want renewed ready.

Reserves & Inter Library Loans

Items on loan, on order or located at a different branch of Ryde Library Services can be reserved for you, at no cost.
If Ryde Library Services does not hold an item you want, please ask and we may be able to get it for you from another library service. This service - Interlibrary loans - may incur a fee.
Reserves and Interlibrary loan items are notified by post or e-mail, specifying the collect by date and branch location.
