White Ribbon Day |

 White Ribbon Day is the UN International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. Publicly show your support by wearing a ribbon or wristband.
White ribbons and white wristbands will be sold from Wednesday, 25 November 2009 - Monday, 4 December 2010 in all City of Ryde branch libraries and the Customer Service Centre.
A domestic violence information stall will be set up on the 4th December at Top Ryde City.

Seniors Roadsense Workshop |

The City of Ryde Council have organise a free three hour Senior Roadsense Workshop targeted specifically at senior drivers over 60.
The seminar is designed to not only enhance seniors driving skills but to update senior’s knowledge of road rules and prepare them for the Aged Driving Test. The workshop aims to:
- Challenge - current thinking and beliefs
- Identify - the key attributes and skills of the low risk driver
- Motivate - participants to be safer drivers
The seminar is free, and on arrival the particpants will be able to collect a free 2010 Seniors Road Safety Calendar.

The City of Ryde and Brush Farm Historical Society are hosting an open day of historic Brush Farm House. Members of the Society will conduct tours at 11am and 1.30pm. The tours run for around an hour and a half and will chronicle the social and architectural history of the House.

Community Christmas Celebration |

The Mayor and Councillors of the City of Ryde send an open invitation to all the community to come together to celebrate the festive season. 
There will be lots of fun, free activities including:
- Free sausage sizzle and refreshments
- Santa’s Cave - tell Santa how good you’ve been all year
- Kids’ crafts – make a special decoration for the Christmas tree including your own Gingerbread Man
- Circus workshop for the kids to learn new tricks
- Cuddle a real live deer at the baby animal farm
- Jumping castle and kids’ rides
- Special Christmas stage show – singalong and dance with Antoine & Bruce’s Christmas Adventure, Jenny Biddle and Franky Valentyn.
Christmas is a time for friends and family to come together to share, so what better way to celebrate than with a giant community Christmas party in one of the City of Ryde’s beautiful parks.
