New Look Recycling Stations for Eastwood

Wednesday, 20 October 2009

As part of Council’s ongoing work to upgrade local shopping centres, twenty-eight new waste/recycling stations have recently been installed in Eastwood Plaza.

Eastwood is one of the district’s busiest shopping precincts.  It has a thriving retail and restaurant culture and the new waste/recycling stations are a welcome addition to Council’s cleansing and waste services in keeping the area clean and attractive for shoppers, retailers, workers and diners.

The capacity of the new bin stations is 2x140L (140L rubbish or waste and 140L for co-mingled recycling, ie paper, glass, plastic and steel, and aluminium cans). An internal separate butt bin is also included.

Forty two, new stainless Butt Bins have been installed around the city at Council buildings, railway entrances and busy bus stops.
