Lunar New Year

The City of Ryde is home to a large and vibrant Chinese and Korean community. In 2013 the City welcomed the Year of the Snake with a spectacle of colour, flavour and excitement.

The equal partnership between the City of Ryde and local Chinese and Korean communities in Ryde in organising the celebrations is unique in Sydney.

Ryde Lunar New Year Organising Committee

The Ryde Lunar New Year subcommittee comprises of the City of Ryde, Eastwood Chinese Senior Citizens Club, Korean Chamber of Commerce, Eastwood Shopping Centre, Eastwood Chamber of Commerce, Eastwood Rotary, Feng Hua Chinese School as well as other community and business leaders.

The equal partnership between the local Chinese and Korean communities in organising the celebrations is unique in Sydney.
