Dragon - Lunar New YearThe City of Ryde is home to a large and vibrant Chinese and Korean community.

The City of Ryde along with the local Chinese and Korean communities come together to organise the Lunar New Year celebrations.

2014 is the Year of the Horse. Come to Eastwood for the annual celebrations!

Cooking Competition

A celebrity cooking competition, free food tasting, a lion dance and cooking demonstrations.

Grand Celebration Day

15 February

Come and join the party! Music and Chinese and Korean dance performances, high pole dancing lions, food stalls, fireworks and Eastwood’s longest dragon parade.

Lion eye dotting, dragon eye dotting, high pole lion dancing, fire cracker and dragon parade by Yau Kung Mun Association.

  • Chinese Musical Band performace by Ai Ai Ai.
  • Junior dance by Southern Star Performance Arts.
  • Chinese dance by ACCA.
  • Indonesian Music.
  • Chinese dance by ACCA.
  • Korean Country Singing.

2.30 - 3.30pm

  • African Dancing.
  • Differently Abled People Association performance.
  • Filipino Group performance.
  • Chinese dance Thousand Hands Mercy Goddess by Pine Dancing Group.
  • Tai Chi by Eastwood Tai Chi Group.

3.30 - 4pm

  • "The Honeymakers" Jazz band by Mr. David Horne.
