 Economic Development Advisory Committee

The City of Ryde currently reviewing nominations from business representatives and the community to join the Economic Development Advisory Committee.

The Committee aims to provide direction and support to assist and guide Council in the implementation of the City of Ryde’s first Economic Development Strategy 2009 - 2014.

The Strategy, which was launched in May 2009, was prepared in close consultation with the Ryde business community to raise the profile of the City and support sustainable economic development. Our expanding local economy is characterised by an exciting range of commercial, retail and business activities the support employment and growth of our centres. Ryde is a place on the move – an innovative City where people want to live, work and grow their business.

Role of the Committee

The Advisory Committee will assist facilitating communication with the wider business community, as well as help to identify economic development issues/projects, government and business sector initiatives and actions that underpin the Economic Development Strategy’s three themes of:

  • Marketing of the City of Ryde
  • Employment generation
  • Building partnerships.
