The City of Ryde is conducting a Food Truck Trial between 1 January and 31 December 2017.

This trial aims to:

  • Identify opportunities for food truck businesses within the City of Ryde
  • Understand the current demand for food trucks in the City of Ryde
  • Investigate and trial various locations
  • Understand the impacts of food truck businesses on existing businesses
  • Understand any other potential issues that may arise as a  result of food truck operations
  • Establish appropriate fees and charges for future food truck operations

During this period, approvals will be issued to food truck businesses to operate in specified locations throughout the local government area. These locations include (but are not limited to):

  • Anzac Park, West Ryde
  • Blenheim Park, North Ryde
  • Cottonwood Crescent, Macquarie Park
  • Fontenoy Park, Macquarie Park
  • Kissing Point Park, Putney
  • Meadowbank Wharf, Meadowbank
  • Putney Park, Putney

It is also possible that a cluster of food trucks may operate at one location.
