Ryde Library Services, as part of the Australian Bureau of Statistics Library Extension Programme, holds a core collection of over 300 publications, including the 1991, 1996 and 2001 census results on CD-ROM, in print or online. The majority of the publications provide statistical information relating to New South Wales or Australia. |

The Australian Bureau of Statistics website provides selected characteristics online from the 1996 Census of Population and Housing Community Profiles, and the 2001 Census of Population and Housing, down to the Statistical Local Area (SLA) level for each state. |
 |
From 2002 the Ryde Library Services is connected to the Australian Bureau of Statistics eLEP service. The eLEP service provides free on-line access to all ABS publications from 1998 in Adobe Acrobat format. Over 650 full text publication titles are available on the ABS website through this service. The service has been made available to existing LEP libraries as part of a new venture of the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
