History Week talks
Provision of Local Studies material is a particular focus of Ryde Library Services, with the Central Library housing the Local Studies collection. Access to the collection externally has been enhanced via the digitisation of photographs, indexing of newspaper articles and production of multi-media oral history summaries.

The Local Studies Collection holds material relating to the history, geography and environment of the Ryde area. The collection consists of books, journals, photographs (which are also available to view on the Library's Catalogue), maps and vertical files containing newspaper clippings, pamphlets and other ephemera.
The collection is held at Ryde Library, Cnr Devlin Street and Blaxland Road, Ryde. The resources in the collection are not for loan and may be used in the Local Studies Room. The Local Studies Room can be accessed during the following hours, with staff assistance.
