It’s Open Season for Cinema in the Park … with Bond, The Queen, Kenny & Spider-Man! February Feb 2 – 29 2008
Ryde families are in for to a right royal treat, when The Queen, Casino Royale and the “knight in shining overalls” Kenny head up an A-list of movies at this year’s Cinema in the Park. For the kids, Spider-Man 3 and Open Season, round off the festival with something for everyone.
Cinema in the Park has become one of the most popular highlights of our summer festival says Derek McCarthy, Manager Community Relations and Events. “Now in its 7th year, Cinema in the Park started as a small event attracting just a few hundred people. Now, thousands turn up to enjoy movies under the stars in a great community get-together.
“Not only do we showcase some seriously good movies, but this festival gives movie-goers the chance to experience several of our outstanding parklands at night, with the choice of five different open air locations.
“We’ve brought Kenny back for a re-run through popular demand and The Queen will carry subtitles for the hearing impaired,” he added.
So, have a great night out under the star with family and friends. Pack a picnic, a blanket or a low-chair and watch some of your favourite movies on the big screen. Films start at sundown (approx 8pm) and conclude around 10.30pm. Snacks available.
Cinema in the Park is sponsored by ‘Yes’ Optus, Macquarie University, Northern District Times.
