The City of Ryde and Roads and Traffic Authority (RTA) will hold a free workshop for parents and supervisors of learner drivers at the Ryde Civic Centre on Thursday, 27 March 2008 at 6.30pm.
The two hour Helping Learner Drivers Become Safer Drivers course developed by the RTA offers parents and supervisors practical advice on how to provide effective driving practice.
The course covers topics such as how to:
• use the Learner Driver Log Book
• plan on road driving sessions
• deal with difficulties that may arise during driving practice
• the importance of giving the learner constructive feedback
Road and Community Safety Officer for the City of Ryde said parents and supervisors who attended the course last year found it boosted their confidence, helped them better plan driving sessions and allowed them to share their experiences with other parents and supervisors.
Bookings for the Helping Learner Drivers Become Safer Drivers course are essential and can be made by calling Emily Burgess, Road and Community Safety Officer for the City of Ryde on 9952 8302.
