Youth Week 08 will run from 5 to 13 April, and is an opportunity for 12 to 25 year olds to celebrate being young, speak up about things that are important to them and make the most of every opportunity.
The slogan for Youth Week 08, Shout.Share.Live.Unite, encourages all local young people to:
shout out about the things that matter to them;
share in the fun of activities and events happening across the country;
live every day to its fullest; and
unite with others in the community to celebrate the contribution young people make to society.
City of Rydes Community Services and the Ryde Youth Council have coordinated a number of free activities for local youth:
Art Exhibition
Showcasing art works by local high school student. Brush Farm House - Mon 7 April 5.00-8.00pm, 8-11 April 5.00-7.00pm.
Battle of the Bands
Local bands battle it out for the honour of Best Band Holy Cross College, Thurs 10 April 4.00-7.30pm.
Acoustic Bingo
Combined Seniors Week and Youth Week event will see the generations mingle to play bingo, win prizes all to the acoustic sounds of local musicians. Eastwood Senior Citizens Centre. Sun 13 April, 11.00am-3.00pm
