Your City, Your Voice - Have your say
Current opportunities
There are many opportunities for the resident, worker, visitor, business or other stakeholder to become involved in the process of developing Ryde 2030 Community Strategic Plan.
Council has developed an extensive engagement plan which provides a range of opportunities for you to have your say and tell us what you think.
A program of engagement activities will occur between April 2009 and June 2010. These activities are aimed at gaining feedback from a diverse range of people in the community. It includes:
- Call the 24 hour Phone the Future Hotline - 1300 645 063 - and leave a voicemail
- Activities for children and young people
- Talking to different networks, community
- Organisations and forums
- Displays in shopping centres
- Workshops and focus groups
- Public exhibition period
The Ryde 2030 team will also be attending the Citizenship Ceremonies and asking our new citizens for their input into the development of the Ryde 2030 Community Strategic Plan.

Previous opportunities
It is important for the community to get involved in this project to tell us their vision for the Ryde area. There are many current opportunities for you to still be involved or to find out more about the Ryde 2030 initiative, and there have been previous opportunities where the community have had a chance to get involved.
Engagement Plan
Council has adopted the ‘Your City, Your Voice’ Engagement Policy and Framework, this has been used to develop how Council will engage with the community for the life of the Ryde 2030 project.
The City of Ryde defines ‘engagement’ as activities or opportunities for residents, stakeholders and Council officers to provide input, feedback, advice and ideas on projects, plans or services that Council is developing or delivering. Generally there are three levels of engagement:
- Inform - tell people
- Consult - ask people
- Collaborate - people tell you.
The Ryde 2030 project will include all three levels of engagement.
