The Top Ryder has now been running for a year and has an enthusiastic and dedicated following. This free bus service, which runs from Monday to Saturday during off-peak hours, is a great way to do your shopping, get to appointments or travel to Meadowbank, West Ryde or Eastwood Stations. To bring you an even better service for the second year of operation, a few minor changes have been made to the route and timetable.
The Top Ryder now goes as far as Eastwood. There is a new stop on Railway Parade, just near the station underpass. At the other end of the route, there’s a new stop in Bay Drive, Meadowbank at the Shepherds Bay shops. Don’t forget that you can also catch the Top Ryder at any existing STA bus stop along the route. Signal the driver clearly.
If you use a wheelchair it is essential to book your place the day before you intend to travel, to ensure there is a place reserved for you.
For wheelchair bookings, call 1300 850 820.
Frequently Asked Questions

Why is the service being provided? During the redevelopment of Top Ryde City, many people have had difficulty accessing alternative shopping venues, as well as the medical centres on Pope Street. The Top Ryder Bus Service is a small step towards this goal.
Where and when does the service run? There are two buses colour coded orange and blue to indicate which route they are travelling.
Route 1 - Orange: Meadowbank to West Ryde via Gladesville, Top Ryde City, Eastwood and Ryde Hospital. Route 2 - Blue: Top Ryde City to Eastwood via Gladesville, Meadowbank, West Ryde and Ryde Hospital.
