Conditions of Entry

  • Visitors entering any indoor Council venue who are aged 12 or over are required to wear a face mask at all times (unless exempt)

All visitors are also encouraged to adhere to the one person per 2 square metre rule while in attendance at any indoor Council venue.

Ryde Aquatic Leisure Centre

The Ryde Aquatic Leisure Centre (RALC) has reopened for all purposes. This includes lap swimming, swimming lessons, squad training, rehabilitation activities and community sporting groups in the stadium.

The wave pool (12.00 - 5.00pm) and waterslide (10.00am - 5.00pm) facilities have also resumed operating on weekends.

City of Ryde Libraries

Ryde, Eastwood, Gladesville, North Ryde and West Ryde library branches have all reopened. For opening hours, please visit the City of Ryde Libraries page. 

After hours book return chutes remain open at the Ryde, West Ryde, Eastwood and Gladesville branches.

The Click and Collect service has now ceased as NSW reopens. Please see our website for further details.

The Home Library Service continues to offer an expanded service to anyone aged 65 years and over.

Council Meetings

The City of Ryde Council meetings are being conducted remotely. You can watch the proceedings via the live stream available on Council’s website. Members of the public who wish to address the meeting are also encouraged to submit their comments in writing via the online form.

Customer Service Centre

The Customer Service Centre has reopened and operate Monday to Friday between 10am to 4pm.

Members of the public can also contact Council by calling 9952 8222 during business hours. They can also email cityofryde@ryde.nsw.gov.au or use the Report an Issue online form.

Members of the public can also drop documentation intended for Council in the Ryde Library return chute, near the Pope Street entrance or mail them to City of Ryde, Locked Bag 2069, North Ryde NSW 1670. 

Building and Development Advisory Service

Face-to-face meetings with the Building and Development advisory service are suspended. Customers can call the Customer Service Centre on 9952 8222 to speak to a dedicated Town Planner who is available from 9.00am and 1.00pm Monday to Friday.

In addition, Council’s Development Engineers are available for phone enquiries between 9.00am and 1.00pm every Wednesday, while Building Certification and Compliance Officers are available to discuss building certification and compliance matters between 9.00am and 1.00pm every Thursday. Find out more

Immunisation Clinic

The Immunisation Clinic at the West Ryde Community Hall is currently closed.

Halls and Venues

Council's community facilities will reopen from 1 November.

Parks and Playgrounds

All City of Ryde playgroundsoutdoor fitness equipment, park barbecues and shelters, and the Meadowbank Skate Park are open to the public.

However, the water play features at Putney Park will remain closed until further notice. 

Park users are reminded to practice good personal hygiene. Please wash your hands and use hand sanitiser and/or disinfectant wipes before and after using Council equipment.

Council is working closely with NSW Police to monitor compliance with social distancing and Public Health Order requirements, and will continue to take advice from authorities. If you think an individual or organisation is in breach of a Public Health Order, please contact Crime Stoppers. Complaints can be reported online or by phone on 1800 333 000.

Shop Ryder Community Bus

The free Shop Ryder bus service continues to run from Wednesday to Saturday during 8.30am and 2.00pm. All users of this service are asked to practise safe hygiene protocols and follow social distancing measures.

Home Modification and Maintenance Service

Council’s Home Modification and Maintenance Service is operating, however, clients are given the option of postponing any scheduled works set to take place.
