Council held an Extraordinary Council Meeting on 5 December 2022. The following is a summary of the outcomes from the meeting:

Review into Planning Policy workshop

Council will review the organisation of City of Ryde Planning Policy Workshops, which were held on 19 and 20 November 2022. A report will look at related Council policies and procedures, decision-making, objectives, costings and participation. This will include recommendations to improve Council’s policies with respect to Councillors’ conference attendance and workshop expenses.

Extension of Consultation for Parramatta Light Rail Stage 2

Council will write to Transport for New South Wales requesting the consultation period for Stage 2 of the Parramatta Light Rail, pertaining to Wharf Road, Melrose Park and proposed Parramatta River Bridge, be extended from 9 December 2022 until at least 31 December 2022.

Soft Plastics Recycling Facility

Council will consult with Hornsby Shire Council, the Northern Sydney Regional Organisation of Councils (NSROC) and any suitable soft plastics recycling facilities seeking a partnership or arrangement with the City of Ryde prior to Christmas 2022. This will support efforts to minimise the volume of soft plastic entering landfill over the holiday period and beyond.
