Looking for a venue to host your next event?

Finding a suitable place to host your event can be quite tricky, especially if your budget is tight. That's why community venues are often a great choice for events and functions because they're affordable, well equipped, and often accessible. From halls fit for weddings through to meeting rooms for cosy book clubs, the City of Ryde has a range of venues available for hire. Applications for bookings in 2020 are currently open and will close on 27 September 2019. 

We've compiled a list of five popular venues, complete with virtual tours, to help you plan. But don't dally with your booking for too long because City of Ryde's venues are in high demand! 

Civic Hall

1 Devlin Street, Ryde
Capacity - Meeting/concert: up to 700 people; dinner dance/weddings: up to 460 people

Located directly across Top Ryde Shopping Centre, the Civic Hall is Ryde's largest community hall and has hosted trade fairs, dinner functions and concerts. Whether you need a commercial-grade kitchen, a stage or a dance floor, the Civic Hall has it all.

Marsfield Community Centre

1A Trafalgar Pl, Marsfield
Capacity - Meeting/concert: up to 80 people

If you need a contained space for young ones to run around, Marsfield Community Centre is the go-to place. Kids can get their daily dosage of sunshine while having fun in the fenced play area. Of course, this centre is not just for the little people. Fully-equipped with AV equipment and a kitchen, this versatile space is also great for group meetings, workshops and intimate performances.

North Ryde School of Arts Community Hall

201 Coxs Road, North Ryde
Capacity - Meeting/concert: over 300 people; dinner dance/weddings: up to 200 people

From orchestral concerts to woodwork workshops, the North Ryde Schools of Arts Community Hall is a popular venue for events that need space. The hall is equipped and ready for all types of performances and presentations, and features a stage with wheelchair accessibility. If you need a spare room or just a quiet place to gather, a meeting room is conveniently located on the floor below, and is furnished with its own kitchenette and toilet facilities. 

Shepherds Bay Community Centre

3A Bay Drive, Meadowbank
Capacity - Meeting/dinner: up to 120 people

Planning a talk, a workshop or a low-key event? The Shepherds Bay Community Centre is a comfortable venue for small events and community gatherings. Conveniently located near Meadowbank Wharf, the centre is also next to Meadowbank Park which offers a beautiful water view.

West Ryde Community Hall

3-5 Anthony Road, West Ryde
Dinner/dance: up to 100 people; meeting/concert: up to 150 people

Need a functional space accessible by train? The centrally located West Ryde Community Hall is only a 5-minute walk from West Ryde Train Station and even closer to supermarkets and restaurants. This spacious multi-purpose event space is a favourite venue for playgroups and businesses alike.
