After last year’s success City of Ryde are excited to announce that we will be running another Drive in Cinema during the April school holidays from Thursday 15 April – Sunday 18 April with two movies sessions each night!

Now is your chance to book a ticket for just $30.00 + booking fee per car (which includes a box of popcorn) to watch a film and experience the Drive In Cinema Sessions for 2021.

This is a drive-in only event, and all patrons will need to stay seated in their designated parking space for the duration of the movie with an exception of going to the restrooms which will be located onsite. Pizza and dessert will be available to purchase online on the night. Food will be delivered directly to you so there will be no need to leave your car.

All films will be closed captioned for the hearing impaired.

NOTE: TICKETS MUST BE PURCHASED IN ADVANCE. RESERVATIONS CLOSE ONE HOUR PRIOR TO THE EVENT. TICKETS WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE AT THE GATE.

Car size categories:

Upon arrival you will be asked to park in bay numbers according to the size of your vehicle. This to ensure that everyone's vehicle can see the screen clearly.

  • SMALL vehicles include sedans and hatchbacks.
  • MEDIUM vehicles include wagons and small SUVs.
  • LARGE vehicles include vans and larger SUVs.

Note: Extra-large vehicles such as caravans will not be permitted on site. City of Ryde Events team have the right to position you in what they deem right for the size of your vehicle.

What time do the screenings open

Thursday 15 April

Movie at 6:30pm (gates open at 5:30pm)
Movies at 9:00pm (gates open at 8:30pm)



How can we hear the movie?

You will be able to listen through your car radio. The station will be provided to you at the event.



Are there toilet facilities available at the venue?

Toilets are located onsite, to the left of the screen when facing it. All attendees but adhere to the social distancing regulations when lining up.



What happens if I’m late?

Entry will not be permitted to patrons who arrive more than 15 minutes after the film has commenced. This is for safety and to ensure no disturbance is made to other patrons.



Is this a wheelchair accessible event?

This event is wheelchair accessible. A disability permit will be required to park in a designated car spot.



What do the ratings mean?

Films have different ratings and will help you determine if the films are suitable for you and your family. For more information on what each rating means, visit the Classification website.



Wet weather?

Screenings will be cancelled only if the weather is a risk to attendees and staff.  If the event in cancelled COR Staff will send an email/SMS and update the City of Ryde Website.



How will we be parked?

Can I sit outside my car?

Yes you can sit outside your car, but you must stay in the designated parking bay allocated to you.



Is alcohol permitted on site?

No, this is an alcohol-free event.



Can we bring dogs?

No dogs are permitted on the event site.



Is there food available?

A pizza and ice-cream option will be available on site. An online menu will be provided to you upon entry. Items will be delivered to your car.



I have booked tickets to both films on the one night, do I need to leave the site and come back?

You are not required to leave the site however you must advise City of Ryde Staff that you have booked into both sessions prior to entry.



Late Arrival?

For the safety of all patrons’ gates will close 15 minutes after the beginning of the movie.


COVID 19 SAFETY MEASURES
  • Attendees, staff and contractors are not to attend if they are feeling sick or have any COVID-19 symptoms outlines by NSW Health.
  • City of Ryde will be checking daily updates and safety measures requested by NSW Health Department to comply with the COVID-19 safety requirements.
  • Attendees not complying with City of Ryde’s safety rules will be asked to leave the premises by City of Ryde Staff members. No refund will be provided.
  • Whilst it is not a requirement for the public to wear masks when leaving their vehicle, we encourage the wearing of masks to assist with stopping the spread of COVID 19.
  • We ask that all attendees stay in their designated car position except for going to the rest rooms.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available to attendees upon check-in and at the rest rooms.
  • Staff and customers must maintain at least 1.5m distance between each other.
  • We are encouraging all attendees to take all rubbish with you.
  • Traffic Control and Staff will be directing traffic but we require the help of everyone to ensure the space remains safe so we can all have a good time. Please keep to the 4km speed limit when driving around the event site.
