Drive-In Cinema

The City of Ryde in partnership with Macquarie University are excited to announce that we will be running our very first Drive in Cinema over the October long weekend on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 October.

Now is your chance to book a ticket for just $15 per car to watch a film and experience the Drive-in Cinema Sessions for 2020. Be quick as there are limited tickets available! 

Pizza and dessert will be available to purchase online on the night. Food will be delivered directly to you so there will be no need to leave your car.

All films will be closed captioned for the hearing impaired.

Online tickets sales will close 1 hour prior to the cinema screening time unless sold out prior. Tickets will not be available for purchase at the gate.

FAQs

What time does the screenings open?
Saturday (3 October) and Sunday (4 October)

Movie at 6:30pm (gates open at 5:30pm)
Movies at 9:00pm (gates open at 8:30pm) 

How can we hear the movie?
You will be able to listen through your car radio. The FM station will be provided to you at the event. 

What do the ratings mean? 
Films have different ratings and will help you determine if the films are suitable for you and your family. For more information on what each rating means head to the following website https://www.classification.gov.au/classification-ratings/what-do-ratings-mean

Wet weather?
Screenings will be cancelled only if the weather is a risk to attendees and staff.  If the event is cancelled City of Ryde Staff will send an email/SMS and update the City of Ryde Website & Granny Smith Festival Facebook Page.

How will we be parked?
Upon arrival you will be asked to park in bay numbers according to the size of your vehicle. This is to ensure that everyone's vehicle can see the screen clearly. Note: Extra-large vehicles such as caravans will not be permitted on site. City of Ryde Events team have the right to position you in what they deem right for the size of your vehicle. 

You will be able to reverse into your car spot however no camp chairs are to be used outside of the vehicle. 

Is alcohol permitted on site? 
No, this is an alcohol-free event.

Can we bring dogs? 
No dogs are permitted on the event site

Is there food available? 
A pizza and Ice-cream option will be available on site. An online menu will be provided to you upon entry. 

I have booked tickets to both films on the one night, do I need to leave the site and come back? 
You are not required to leave the site however you must advise City of Ryde Staff that you have booked into both sessions prior to entry.

Late Arrival?
For the safety of all patrons’ gates will close 10 minutes after the beginning of the movie.
