Sustainability at Granny Smith

Come and visit the City of Ryde’s Green Hub!

The Green Hub will be hosting all things environment, waste, sustainability and resilience for all ages. Visit us to learn about helping your environment through waste avoidance initiatives and programs, check what natural hazards your home is exposed to and book a free in-home sustainability or home solar assessment. You can also get tips on how to lower your water usage, improve biodiversity and get prepared with the Red Cross. Kids, have your photo behind the wheel of our replica waste truck cut-out and get involved in our interactive waste scavenger hunt to get a free reusable bag!

Adults, come visit the hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle display to see the technology that will lower your carbon footprint with zero CO2 emissions.

There will also be native plants for sale, face painting for kids and demonstrations on sustainable living tips and tricks.

BYO WASTE WISE

BYO Waste Wise

As part of the City of Ryde’s commitment to maintaining a sustainable environment, the Granny Smith Festival is designated as a ‘Waste Wise Event’. Council is encouraging the community to minimise waste and recycle what cannot be avoided or reused.

Please remember to BYO water bottle as no plastic water bottles will be on sale from our stallholders. Fill up for free at the refill and bubbler water stations located around the Festival site provided by Sydney Water.

We also encourage festivalgoers to BYO re-usable bags and coffee cups.

Together we can make a difference.
