Celebrate NSW Senior Festival and enjoy an evening of music as Domenico Sepe and special guests take you on a musical journey exploring Jazz, Latin American, Neapolitan music and everything in between.

This event is part of the Seniors Festival Celebrations, which runs from Wednesday 12 February to Sunday 23 February 2020.

About Domenico Sepe

Domenico Sepe is an internationally trained pianist and singer with an authentic Italian passion for music in all its forms. Particularly  jazz, Neapolitan music and everything in between. Jazz allows Domenico to express aspects of his persona, whereas his cultural legacy is maintained alive through Neapolitan music.

Born in Naples, Italy, Domenico took his first piano lesson at the age of five thanks to his mother’s love of music and to the magical presence of a grand piano in their humble home.

He studied piano under Maestro Sergio Fiorentino and the violin under Maestro Luigi Schinina at the S. Pietro a Majella Conservatorium of Naples, Italy.

In the USA he studied composition and jazz improvisation under the guidance of Morris J. Lawrence, director of music at the Washtenaw College, Ann Arbor Michigan.

He has performed and recorded in Europe and the USA with musicians James Senese, Roberto Gatto, Nino Buonocore, Maria Pia de Vito, Martin Joeseph, Beatrice Redding, Richie Haven, Jessie King and many others.

He has been involved in numerous Neapolitan lyrical and theatrical productions, including a play by Raffaele Viviani directed by Maurizio Scaparro and presented in 1987 at the Festival of Two Worlds, Spoleto. He has toured in Italy with television and theatre actor Tomaso Bianco and tenor Gian Franco Iori (trained by world famous tenor Ferriccio Tagliavani).

In Sydney, Domenico has become a part of the Sydney music scene, performing alongside leading Australian jazz and classical musicians in The Opera Project, Musica Viva’s Cafe’ Carnivale, Eastside Arts, the Sydney Mandolin Orchestra and Completely Plucked Mandolin Ensemble.
