Artisans Ryde - Abstract Art

Tutor: Lucia Domenica

In this workshop, we will learn how to use a palette knife, paintbrush and a cloth to paint on canvas.

You will be guided on how to use these implements to create a modern painting; either a seascape or a more abstract artwork.

By the end of this class, you will have achieved a complete artwork to take home.

This class is suitable for beginners or all levels of experience; no prior knowledge is necessary.

What to Bring

  • Please bring your own canvas
  • Acrylic paints
  • Paint brushes and/or palette knife

In addition, the tutor will provide some brushes, palette knives and cloth for painting.

You will need 250mL of white paint and, for a seascape, small tubes of deep blue, sky or light blue, yellow, brown, turquoise or emerald green paint.

For an abstract piece, you may bring small tubes of your favourite colours. Canvas size should be no smaller than 20cm x 30cm and no bigger than 40cm x 75cm.
