About Andrew Gissing – General Manager, Risk Frontiers
Andrew is a community resilience and engagement expert with over 20 years of resilience building experience including in executive management positions. He previously held the position of Deputy Chief Officer / Director Community Resilience with the Victoria State Emergency Service.
Andrew has led the delivery of more than 70 climate risk and resilience projects. He is an expert facilitator. He has undertaken extensive research on the preparedness of small businesses for flooding and led the development of the Business FloodSafeprogram for the NSW and Victorian State Emergency Services.
Andrew is an Adjunct Fellow at Macquarie University and a lead researcher at the Bushfire and Natural Hazards Cooperative Research Centre. Andrew was an expert witness at National Natural Disaster Arrangements Royal Commission.
