Composting and Worm Farming Workshop

Introductory hands on workshop where you will learn how to set up your own compost bin or worm farm.  

Compost and worm farm produce is great for a healthy garden and is a valuable organic resource that helps to reduce the amount of waste we send to landfill. Through composting and worm farming you can help to:

Come along and learn how to set up your own compost bin or worm farm and:

  • reduce your rubbish output by up to 50% 
  • reduce water consumption in the garden by up to 30% 
  • nourish your plants 
  • save money!

Participants who are City of Ryde residents will be provided with a 50% discount voucher to purchase a compost bin or worm farm after attending this workshop.

WhoThis workshop is suitable for adults who live in the City of Ryde local government area and are beginners/inexperienced in composting and worm farming. 

Equipment: Please bring your own note pad and pen to take notes. To reduce our environmental impact, please bring your own cup to enjoy morning tea.

Clothing and Footwear: Please ensure you wear enclosed flat shoes (no sandals, thongs or high heels please) and long trousers covering your legs to your ankles. Bring or apply sunscreen & hat for your own skin protection.
