DIGITAL | Diversify Your Creative Income
How many money making ways can you think of? Creative businesses often need help to brainstorm all the possible ways to diversify their income streams and become more financially sustainable.
Diversify Your Creative Income is an interactive online workshop that allows participants to discuss the various general ways that creatives can make money (including services, goods and passive income), and offers practical exercises to help brainstorm those ideas.
The workshops examines:
- Identifying your Core and Complementary Skills
- The Minimum Viable Offering
- Using a Skills Audit to inspire ideas
- How to identify a 'good' idea
- Helpful resources and more.
What You'll Need
You will be emailed a link to the workshop and instruction about how to logon prior to this event. You’ll need access to a stable internet connection and a computer, laptop or tablet to participate in the workshop. We don’t recommend using a phone due to the small screen size.
Who is this Workshop for?
Come along if you are a creative practitioner in a business of any size. You could be a freelancer, a soloist or from a larger organisation looking to expand your network. You should also attend if you hate networking but feel that it is a skill you need to learn.
This workshop is open to anyone who lives, works, studies or plays in the City of Ryde.
Monica Davidson, Director of Creative Plus Business Group
Monica Davidson is an award-winning expert on the creative industries, who began her professional life as a freelance journalist and filmmaker. In 2014 Monica completed her Masters degree in Screen Arts and Business at AFTRS, and was appointed as the first NSW Creative Industries Business Advisor by the Department of Industry. Shortly after she founded the social enterprise Creative Plus Business, which is dedicated to educating creative people about small business and marketing skills. In 2019, Monica was awarded the QUT Creative Enterprise Australia award for being a Creative Trailblazer that “advocates, mentors, donates, educates and advises within Australia’s creative economy”. Monica continues to work as a writer, filmmaker and occasional performer.
Business Skills for Creatives
This workshop is part of a series of free professionally run workshops teaching business skills to creatives in the City of Ryde. These workshops are an opportunity to get expert advice, meet other local creatives, and ask difficult questions in a supportive environment. See the full program.
