DIGITAL | #GetThatJob - For Youth and Parents

Learn ways that will help you take the first steps in getting your dream job in this virtual event, a partnership between us and Skillsroad.

All young job seekers and their parents are highly recommended to tune in!

Skillsroad Career Coaches Michaela and Tammy will help guide job seekers through the process of figuring out what they are born to do, and show how to make the most of your time in isolation. Parents will also be introduced to the tools they need to have meaningful career discussions with their teen.

Plus, you will be able to connect directly with local employers, be the first to discover local job opportunities via the Skillsroad Jobs Board. And you could have lunch on us—there are 10 x $20 food vouchers, redeemable from a local café, up-for-grabs for the first 10 people who register and tune in to the event. This event is a part of the ‘Local Jobs For Local Youth’ campaign.

About the #GetThatJob Program

Skillsroad’s #GetThatJob program is funded by the Department of Education to help youth on their career exploration process, from finding out what career path is the best match for them, all the way through to connecting them with employers. The program is aimed at local youth who aren’t in employment, education or training, and who aren’t eligible for any other government assistance. This youth cohort run the risk of being overlooked and slipping through the cracks, eventually becoming long term unemployed.

Skillsroad has over 320,000 registered users and is a popular destination for career advice.
