Guided Walk: Seniors Week - River Walk from Anderson Park

Our special Senior's Week walk on 10 April is going to be along part of the River Walk. The meeting place is Anderson Park.

Points of interest will be the war memorials at Meadowbank Park, tales of early settlers including James Shepherd who settled in the Eastern Farms ( as the area was known ) in 1795,The reason for the name Charity Point, sites of the Parramatta River punt, the Ryde wharf and the swimming baths. It is a really interesting part of the LGA and the walk gives lovely views over the river. 

Time: 11 am - 1 pm (arrive at 10.45 am)

Parking: Limited parking available onsite or in surrounding local streets. 

Meeting Point: Anderson Park


  • Easy grade walk suitable for adults.
  • Walk distance is approximately 3 km so a basic level of fitness and mobility is required.
  • This walk is conducted on a combination of paths and tracks including some uneven ground, steep slopes, steps, slippery surfaces and road crossing.
  • No dogs or pets.
  • No smoking

Equipment: Please bring your own water, water bottle and sunscreen.

Clothing: Must be suitable for physical activity. Hats must be worn. Bring a jacket in the event of inclement weather.

Footwear: Shoes must be enclosed, have a non-slip sole and suitable for physical activity. Thongs, sandals and open toed shoes are not permitted.
