Rainwater Harvesting Workshop

Find out what’s involved in designing and maintaining your own rainwater harvesting system.

This free interactive workshop will give you all the information you need to set up and maintain your own rainwater tank, whether it be plumbed into your house or simply installed for your garden.

  • You will learn how to choose the best tank size
  • How to calculate demand for your rainwater tank system
  • The different types of tanks and their installation requirements
  • How to design a system including first leaf screening mesh, rain heads
  • and first flush diverters
  • How to ensure suitable water quality and minimise health impacts
  • Ongoing maintenance requirements.

As numbers are limited, preference will be given to residents of Ryde. If you live outside the City of Ryde, please email sustainability@ryde.nsw.gov.au to go on the waiting list.
