Seniors Week | Guided Walk: Meadowbank Park to Anderson Park

Join us on a walk during Seniors Week through the local area of Meadowbank.

Points of interest will be the war memorials at Meadowbank Park, tales of early settlers including James Shepherd who settled in the Eastern Farms (as the area was known) in 1795, The reason for the name Charity Point, sites of the Parramatta River punt, the Ryde wharf and the swimming baths.

This is a really interesting part of the LGA with the walk giving lovely views over the river. 

Session 1: 10.30am –12.00pm (arrive 10.15am) BOOK ONLINE

Session 2:  12.30pm – 2.00pm (arrive 12.15pm) BOOK ONLINE

Parking: Parking available onsite and in surrounding streets 

Meeting Point: At the gazebo near the amenities building. 


  • Easy grade walk suitable for seniors and retirees
  • Walk distance is approximately 3km so a basic level of fitness and mobility is required
  • This walk is conducted on a combination of paths and bush tracks including some uneven ground, slopes and occasional steps
  • This walk is not suitable prams, strollers or mobility devices
  • No dogs
  • No smoking

Equipment: Please bring your own water, water bottle and sunscreen.

Clothing: Must be suitable for physical activity. Bring a jacket in the event of inclement weather.

Footwear: Shoes must be enclosed, have a non-slip sole and suitable for physical activity. Thongs, sandals and open toed shoes are not permitted.
