Sustainability Festival

Celebrate World Environment Day with us at City of Ryde's Sustainability Festival on 6 June 2021.

Discover how you can help our environment in different ways. There will be something for everyone from the curious and the casual to the committed.

Come down to Wilga Park where you can check out an SES truck while learning about resilience in the community, view the new edition to the City of Ryde’s fleet vehicles the Kona Electric Vehicle and learn how the charging stations work. Come and see the latest in e-bikes, bring your push bike and learn how to make some basic repairs with our Free bike checks.

The festival will have a great vibe with live Music from Lachlan Kerley and Romi Sounds. Hourly demonstrations on green cleaning and Natural Skincare Demos. There will be an interactive Reptile amphibian and bug display where you can learn about biodiversity in our area and Australia.

There will be workshops running every half hour throughout the day!

  • Join Koori Kinnections and learn about Aboriginal cultures, history, the environment, plants, and sustainability through a hands-on learning experience.
  • Come meet Michelle the Creative Teacher who will be running Sustainable Waste 2 Art Prize (SWAP) Workshops.
  • Visit the ocean action Pod, take a pod tour, be a part of the Giant cigarette butt autopsy and fit out about who eats who? Including you!

There will also be a jumping castle, face painting, games, prize packs, food trucks and a Scout-run BBQ.

Public transport is recommended as parking is limited, Wilga Park is a short walk from the Macquarie University Metro Station or the Macquarie Centre Bus stop.

BYO coffee cups, drink bottles and picnic rugs and celebrate this family-friendly, plastic-free event with us.

Check in with the website closer to the event for the festival program for the day and map of stall holders and for any updates relating to weather or Covid related requirements.
