Join us at Ryde Library to become more Tech Savvy with your smartphone or tablet.

The range of new touchscreen smartphones and tablets allow you to access the internet, use social media, get live news updates, play music and video, and much more. They almost universally use touchscreens for control, however, which can be a challenge for people new to the technology.

In this workshop, you will learn the basics of how to navigate your way around a smartphone/tablet with a touchscreen.

You will learn:

• Most common touchscreen gestures
• Make and receive calls/video calls
• Adjust commonly used settings eg. Wifi, GPS, volume, screen brightness
• Take photos/record videos
• Introduction to downloading/using popular apps eg. Social media, transport and internet browsing.

Attendees will be required to bring their own smartphone and/or tablet and handouts will be given. Please also bring your Apple ID/Google Play password in case you need it to download any apps demonstrated during the session.
