Unlimited Lace Exhibition

The Hand Weavers and Spinners Guild of NSW have created an exhibition, "Unlimited Lace". It is an exhibition of historic hand and machine-made lace through to contemporary lace. 

Highly skilled women made lace, whereas the men designed and sold it. It was expensive, worth more than gold and silver, and a high fashion item, initially by men to wear in the 1500's. In the industrial revolution in the 1800s, handwork was replaced by machines and became accessible.

There will also be a vintage German lace book on display.
