NSW Reads

Participate in the very first state-wide reading program, NSW Reads, with Sydney author Andrew Pippos’ debut novel, Lucky’s

Central to the theme of Lucky’s are the iconic Greek milk bar/café businesses, found in so many Australian towns and suburbs. NSW Reads will celebrate the heritage of these venues and the migrant experiences of food and community as readers from all over the state share a reading experience. The Guardian Australia described it as “a must-read saga, and a gripping monument to Greek diaspora.”

Lucky’s will resonate and deliver a sense of nostalgia to Australians of all ages in both metro and regional areas.

Copies of Lucky’s is available for loan at City of Ryde Libraries in both physical and electronic versions.

Join in on this state-wide book club as everyone in New South Wales is invited to join in and read Andrew Pippos’ debut novel, Lucky’s. Readers can join in the read-along via @nswlibraryevents.

Stretching across decades, this novel explores the rise and fall of a family business over generations. Inspired by the author’s own experiences, Lucky’s is a richly told narrative that explores the power that love and luck play in our lives.
