Justice of the Peace Services

All JP services at City of Ryde Libraries are suspended until further notice. We thank you for your understanding.

Below is a list of JP services available in the local Ryde area and surrounding local government areas. Always call ahead to confirm availability as some places will require an appointment.

What services can a Justice of the Peace (JP) provide?

Generally a Justice of the Peace can:

  • witness oaths or affidavits
  • take statutory declarations and affirmations
  • witness signatures
  • attest the execution of a document
  • certify a true copy of an original document.

JP Public Register

You can find a Justice of the Peace using the online Public Register. You can search by postcode, name of a JP, day of availability, language spoken and JP registration number.  

The register lists a JP’s location, availability and telephone number. Please note that JPs are volunteers and may not be available at all times.
