In October last year, we asked for your feedback on the City of Ryde’s proposal to install ‘NO PARKING 5AM – 11AM TUESDAY’ controls on Monash Road, Kim Street and Leawill Place, Gladesville, as part of a program to assist waste‑collection vehicles in narrow streets across the City of Ryde.

CONSIDERATION OF PUBLIC FEEDBACK

We received poor support from the community for the previous proposal. Considering this feedback, the proposal to install ‘NO PARKING 5AM-11AM TUESDAY’ in the Kim Street cul-de-sac only will be considered by Council at the Works and Community Committee meeting to be held on 20 March 2018.

We are now seeking your feedback on a revised proposal to improve safe waste-collection vehicle access and travel in Monash Road.

WHAT ARE THE CHANGES BEING CONSIDERED?

In order to improve access for large vehicles (including emergency vehicles, waste-collection and removalist vehicles), and provide two travel lanes for smaller vehicles, City of Ryde is proposing to install a ‘NO STOPPING’ zone on the inner radius of the bend at the intersection of Monash Road and Kim Street, Gladesville.

In addition to these improvements, 10 metre ‘NO STOPPING’ zones will be installed at the following intersections, to reinforce the Road Rules for parking near intersections:

  • Monash Road and Leawill Place
  • Monash Road, Thompson Street and Higginbotham Road
