Last year, City of Ryde undertook a study to improve pedestrian access and safety around Meadowbank Station West. The study identified a number of issues in the area, including the lack of footpath on the eastern side of Bank Street, near to the angled parking spaces.
Due to the location of the parking, a new footpath cannot be installed at this location. To help redirect pedestrians to the footpath on the western side of Bank Street, a new kerb ramp will be installed outside property No. 15 Bank Street. In addition to these improvements the kerb ramp on the eastern side of Bank Street, near to the angled parking, will also be upgraded.
WHAT ARE THE CHANGES BEING CONSIDERED?
In order to provide pedestrian access to the new kerb ramp to be installed outside No. 15 Bank Street, City of Ryde is proposing to add ‘NO STOPPING’ controls at this location. The proposed controls will remove two on-street parking spaces.
