The COVID-19 Rates Rebate - Financial Hardship Application Program has now closed. If you are experiencing financial hardship and wish to discuss alternative payment arrangements for your rates, please contact Council on (02) 9952 8222 and request to speak to someone in our Rates team or email cityofryde@ryde.nsw.gov.au. COVID-19 Support and Information

Council's Coronavirus (COVID-19) hub contains information and resources to support our community and businesses through the pandemic. This includes information on local community organisations, mental health helplines and Government rebates and grants.

COVID-19 Rates Rebate - Financial Hardship Application Program 

In 2021, Council provided a one-off Council rates rebate of $400 to assist its ratepayers and debtors through the COVID-19 pandemic. Eligible applicants could apply for a rebate provided they were granted one of the below payments from either the Federal or State Governments:

  • Commonwealth COVID-19 Disaster Payment
  • Small and Medium Business Support Payment
  • Federal/State Grants program for Micro Businesses
  • JobSaver Payment.

In 2021/2022 the rebate was granted to approximately 1,900 ratepayers totalling $750,000.
