The Mortlake Ferry began operating in 1925 and is the only remaining punt in Sydney. It crosses Parramatta River from Hilly Street, Mortlake to Pellisier Road, Putney. The punt carries cars, pedestrians and cycles and is free of charge. The trip takes 5 minutes.
Running through the peaceful bushland valley of the Lane Cove National Park, the banks of the Lane Cove River are the perfect place for a picnic, barbecue (bring your own wood), or a bushwalk.
