Report a Public Health Risk

Owners and occupiers of premises have a responsibility to prevent public health risks from occurring. 

Common public health risks include:

  • Sewer leaks or overflows
  • Overgrown land
  • Accumulated rubbish
  • Inadequate waste storage and handling facilities
  • Defective or inadequate roofwater guttering, downpipes or drainage
  • Neglected swimming pools.

Council Environmental Health Officers investigate complaints about public health risks and can issue orders where necessary.
