School Holiday Programs

The City of Ryde is the second largest provider of free school holiday programs in NSW with capacity for over 2000+ children per year to be taking part in a range of physical activities across the city’s many parks, open spaces and recreational facilities.

Where possible, we aim to make our school holiday programs accessible and inclusive of children of all abilities, If you have any questions about physical access or inclusion in any of our school holiday activities, please email activerecreation@ryde.nsw.gov.au or call 9952 8222.

All children attending the program must have closed toe shoes and a water bottle, for outdoor programs we also suggest sunscreen and a hat. A responsible adult must attend with all participants under the age of 13 and remain throughout the session.

Spring School Holidays

Active In Ryde’s FREE kids program is back this September and October with a range of exciting free activities happening across the City of Ryde.

Each activity has listed age groups of suitability, with sessions tailored to different skills and abilities. Most often, activities are for participants aged 5 to 12, however some variants may appear. We ask that you check with us before enrolling a child that does not meet the minimum age requirement to avoid disappointment on the day.

Please make sure you read each registration page carefully and understand the minimum skills required to participate in each activity. 

Outdoor activities generally do not run in wet weather. Where possible, an alternate indoor venue may be arranged. If the event is cancelled, you will be notified by either email or text.

Registrations will open Saturday the 20th of September at 9:30am, please make sure you list YOUR CHILD'S NAME as the customer, only ONE booking per sport, per day will be accepted to allow as many children as possible to participate.
