The City of Ryde is committed to ensuring all families, park patrons and sporting user groups have access to safe, accessible and high-quality parks and sporting facilities.

As part of this commitment, and following community feedback received on the Gannan Park and McCauley Park Masterplan (adopted July 2019), Council will be constructing a new amenities building and undertaking a number of park upgrades at Gannan Park, Ryde.

What will the upgrades include?

Construction of the new amenities building commenced in April 2023 and the former building will be demolished in June 2024.

Park upgrades The park upgrades will include an expanded playground, loop pathway/scooter track, two fitness nodes, relocated and enclosed cricket nets, expanded bush regeneration area, sports field lighting, garden bed enhancements and new pathway connections.

When will the park upgrades take place?

Construction of the new amenities building commenced in April 2023 and work will soon begin on the next stage of upgrades at the park.

During the upgrade work, Gannan Park and part of McCauley Park need to be closed in the interest of public safety. The closure will be in place from Monday 17 June 2024 to late February 2025, which includes the next stage of construction.

During the closure, you can enjoy other recreation spaces nearby, such as Ryde Park, Pidding Park, or North Ryde Common.
